Centro Comercial la Reyna de Gamarra
Centro Comercial la Reyna de Gamarra
Sebastian Barranca 1565, La Victoria - Lima
Tel: (1) 324-1171
Antonio Bazo 785, La Victoria - Lima
Tel: (1) 473-2776

First of all this i have to warn you Gamarra is located in one of the most dangerous areas in Lima, La Victoria. If you plan to go there ( which is really recommended ) i'd advice you to take a taxi and get dropped of behind the gates of Gamarra. You might have problems with finding a taxi who wants to drop you off there, because most taxi drivers are scared to drive there, even more with a tourist in the back of his car. Most taxis will ask way more than needed to drive you there, from Miraflores to Gamarra should be like S/. 6.00, not more. Anyways, it's a little safer there now because of the new food court that got build on top of Gamarra and there are many more policemen and security guarding the blocks around Gamarra. Do not exit to the opposite side of the main entrance though, this area is still VERY dangerous to be. Once you get dropped off at the main entrance you will be totally confused with all the people and all the stores / shopping buildings / little shopping centers surrounding you. The whole shopping area exists out of bought buildings which were/are reconstructed into stores, and there are MANY blocks there, so better not go there with tired feet if you are planning to go there.
You can buy practically everything available here except shoes for men. Everything is available in an excessive amount, women's/man's clothing, shoes for women, baby clothes, children's clothes, lingerie / underwear, curtains, watches ( forged ), name it, it's available. The prices here are cheap and the quality is very good, for sure in Gamarra itself, the clothes there are also a little more expensive than in the surrounding buildings. If you buy something, always try to bring down the price, it's normal and they are used to it and it always works.
One last warning, watch your pockets, because even with all the guards available there there are still pickpocketers trying to steal.

Centro Comercial Camino Real
Centro Comercial Camino Real
Av. Camino Real 456, San Isidro
(+51-1) 421-6832

This shopping center is located in one of the nicest districts in Lima, San Isidro, where you can find the most exclusive Hotels, Houses and Appartments. Some time ago Centro Comercial Camino Real was a very exclusive shopping center, but after Jockey Plaza and later Larco Mar got build and because several ( actually many ) shops got closed because they did not pay any taxes it's really not worth going there anymore. The shops still available there are very expensive and more and more are leaving because almost no one comes shopping there anymore and the rent for having a shop there is extremely high, the shops available are quite exclusive though.
The building is now now mainly used for it's 3 office towers ( Torres ) where you can find for instance Iberia, Britsh Airways, Aero Mexico, Delta Airlines, Varig, and many more offices.

Larco Mar
LarcoMar S.A.
Centro Comercial Parque Salazar
Av. Larco s/n, Miraflores, Tel: 620-6000

The shopping center is located at the coast of Lima, ( Costa Verde ). You have a very nice view over the sea. Most of the time there is a strong breeze coming from the sea and when you go there after the sun goes down it will be a little cold there.
LarcoMar is my favorite place to be, because of several reasons, there is an incredible cine there ( UVK Multicines Larcomar ) which has 12 rooms where they show movies. The sound is incredible, the seats are comfortable and the quality of the movie display is excellent. The movies are all shown in English ( except movies for children ) with Spanish subtiltles. Room 12 is with a bar and the entrance to that one is more expensive than the rest. UVK Multicines Larcomar is more expensive than any of the other cines in Lima but it's worth it.

Their prices are:

Monday and Wednesday S/.10.00 per person
Tuesday S/.7.50 per person
Thirsday till Sunday S/.15.00 per person

Sala Bar ( room 12 ) which include a drink:

Monday and Wednesday S/.16.00 per person
Tuesday S/.13.50 per person
Thirsday till Sunday S/.21.00

The other reason why i like it so much there because the food court is filled with fastfood restaurants, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc, etc. Besides that there is not much to find there, there are some more exclusive restaurants / bars, expensive stores ( Alpaca 111, Inca's Treasure, La casa de la Llama, Peru Artcrafts, Tatoo Outdoors, Peruvian Cultures ), arcade hall, some discos / clubs and there is a big bowling center (with a children's disco and a pool room ). At some of the stores in Larco Mar they offer Peruvian souvenirsr, but i would advice you to buy them somewhere else, there are much cheaper places in Lima selling exactly the same product for a lot less.
